#2.) Yamato Daijo Fujiwara Masanori sunnobi tanto in a shirasaya. This smith is always considered to belong to the Echizen Shimozaka group . His work is considered to be of josaku quality. Most of his hamon are high choji and midare going all the way to the shinogi ji. This very active style of temper make his work highly sought after by collectors here and in Japan. This wide long tanto, as it was considered in the Nambokucho period, is called a sunnobi shape and was part of the tanto group. Being either call a josun or sunnobi when refeiring to the length. It measures 1 shaku 1 sun 3 bu in length. The hamon is low notare suguba very nicely made and brilliant. The hada is a koitame and komokume mixed. It is fine and shows up very good. The mune is mitsumune and on the omote is a large groove and a small one underneath. The ura has one large groove. Also on the ura is a black pit or carbon inclusion. On the omote there are some small laminations showing. The signature is that of the shodai on a ubu nakago. In shirasaya with a NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon certificate from 2 years ago.
