Bizen Tsuneiye Kosori Daito 66.8cm
This fantastic sword of 66.8cm with no flaws has a beautiful jigane and temper that is superb in its tight compact gunome midare hamon. There is plenty of activity and small workings inside that will always hold your attention. The sword has a 1980 NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho certificate from the Dallas shinsa. The appraisal was Bizen Tsuneiye. a kosori smith from about Oan era. I actually think it could be one of the smiths from the late Kanemitsu school such as yoshimitsu from about 1375. No matter it is a great collectible that displays a midare utsuri hanging from the shinogi like a draped curtain. The nakago is ubu except for about 3/4 inch machi okuri and two holes. It is in a WWII Gunto koshirae that is in very good condition. Habaki is a two piece shakudo wrapped one.The blade has a true fumbari appearance with 3.1 cm width at the ha and mune machi with 1.9cm at the yokote. Kissaki is 3.1cm in length . The Kasane at the machi is 7.5cm at the yokote is 5mm.
A beautifully proportioned sword, when held or on a stand it makes you think that it was made to be worn as a small tachi.
Also has a shirasaya
