Very good example of the Iyo Shoami school.
The design is of Gunpai (Japanese war fans) and Oars. The fans and oars are made of a rich, bluish-black Shakudo (gold and copper alloy patinated black) inlayed on a complex pure copper with different hues of brown and red. Obvious seppazuri (seppa wear from a samurai carrying it) around the seppa dai.
A few deep punch marks at both ends of the nakago ana which may indicate a change in mountings or to fit a smaller sized nakago. The signature is finely chiseled and remains in crisp condition. Circa 1700
